Todd Akin Must Go

Why the hell did Missouri Republicans nominate this jerk?  What is wrong with them? This is a very winnable Senate seat, and it is a needed Republican pick up to take control of the Senate.  And now, the neanderthal known as Todd Akin has but his foot, his leg, and the rest of his body in his mouth, big time.  Of course, I'm too polite to say what part of his anatomy he has his head stuck up.

The story of his idiotic comment is here,  along with a typically sensible National Review editorial asking him to step down.  He needs to heed this advice; if not, top Republicans, including Mitt Romney, if necessary, need to do whatever it takes to get him off the ballot.  Not only is a Senate seat at stake, but so are Missouri's crucial 11 electoral votes in the Presidential election.

Again I ask, what were the Republicans in Missouri thinking?  Missouri is not a hard-right state like Utah or Mississippi where the most extreme conservative can win easily.  In a state like this, you have to make sure your candidate isn't some kind of right-wing wingnut first.  Sarah Steelman would have a a lock to take the seat for Republicans. How could you Missourians have been so stupid?

Didn't you learn anything at all from 2010's nominations of Sharron Angle and Christine O'Donnell?  You should have.

Let's get Akin out and replace him with somebody more electable, which would be just about any other Republican in Missouri, I'd guess.
